English Definition
The period over which a contract remains in force and the parties' performance obligations persist; in credit and offtake agreements this duration defines the backbone of the financing structure. In project finance the gap between the tenor of the revenue contract and that of the debt — particularly the merchant 'tail' where the PPA is shorter than the loan — is among the most sensitive items for lenders, since every uncontracted year is a window in which repayment is exposed to open market risk. A minimum overlap between contract tenor and debt tenor is therefore usually imposed as a covenant.

Bir sözleşmenin yürürlükte kalacağı, yani tarafların edim yükümlülüklerinin devam edeceği süredir; kredi ve alım sözleşmelerinde bu süre finansman yapısının omurgasını belirler. Proje finansmanında gelir sözleşmesinin vadesi ile kredinin vadesi arasındaki fark — özellikle PPA'nın borçtan kısa olduğu 'kuyruk' (tail) dönemi — kredi verenler için en hassas kalemdir; zira sözleşmesiz geçecek her yıl, borcun teminatsız piyasa riskine açık kaldığı bir penceredir.
