The expenses incurred in executing a financial transaction beyond the price of the asset or service itself, including legal fees, advisory fees, brokerage commissions, stamp duties, and regulatory filing costs. Transaction costs are an important consideration in project finance feasibility analysis, as they can represent a significant portion of total project development expenditure. Under IFRS 9, certain transaction costs are capitalized into the financial instrument's carrying value.
