Kredi verenin, sözleşmede tanımlı bir hak ya da temerrüt hâline dayanarak, henüz vadesi gelmemiş kredinin tamamının derhâl geri ödenmesini talep etmesidir. Bu hak genellikle bir temerrüt olayına (event of default) ya da talep üzerine ödenen (on-demand) kredi niteliğine bağlıdır. Proje finansmanında muacceliyet, çapraz temerrüt (cross-default) ve önemli olumsuz değişiklik (MAC) hükümleriyle bağlandığından, tek bir covenant ihlali dahi tüm borcu anında ödenebilir hâle getirebilir; bu nedenle kredi veren bu silahı nadiren kullanır, zira muacceliyet çoğu zaman projeyi tasfiyeye sürükleyerek geri kazanımı düşürür.
English Definition
A lender's demand, grounded in a contractual right or an event of default, for immediate repayment of a loan not yet at maturity. The right usually attaches to an event of default or to the on-demand character of the facility. In project finance, acceleration is tied to cross-default and material-adverse-change clauses, so that a single covenant breach can render the entire debt immediately payable; lenders nonetheless deploy this weapon sparingly, since acceleration often pushes the project toward liquidation and depresses recovery.
