Taşıma sırasında mala gelebilecek hasar, kayıp ya da çalınmaya karşı yükü teminat altına alan sigorta türüdür; deniz, kara, hava ve çok-modlu taşımayı kapsayabilir ve teminatın kapsamı, Incoterm'in belirlediği risk geçiş noktasına göre kimin lehine düzenleneceğini değiştirir. Proje finansmanında bu sigorta, ithal edilen ağır ekipmanın — türbin, transformatör, modül — sahaya ulaşana kadarki risk penceresini kapatan kritik bir halkadır; büyük ve tek parça ekipmanın kaybı, yalnızca yenileme maliyetini değil tedarik süresi kadar bir inşa gecikmesini de tetiklediğinden, kredi verenler çoğu kez gecikmeden doğan kâr kaybını da teminat kapsamında ister.
English Definition
Insurance that covers goods against damage, loss, or theft while in transit; it can span sea, land, air, and multimodal carriage, and the scope of cover, together with the Incoterm that fixes the point of risk transfer, changes in whose favour the policy is written. In project financing this cover is a critical link closing the risk window until imported heavy equipment — a turbine, transformer, or module — reaches site, and because the loss of a large, indivisible piece of equipment triggers not only replacement cost but a construction delay equal to the lead time, lenders often also require delay-in-start-up cover for the resulting loss of profit.
