English Definition
The central bank that conducts monetary policy for the Russian Federation, issues the national currency and regulates and supervises the banking system. In project transactions in Russia or with Russia-linked parties, the capital controls, currency-repatriation restrictions and measures the central bank imposes in response to sanctions regimes can interrupt distribution and debt-service flows independently of the contract. Such jurisdiction risk is typically mitigated through political-risk insurance and offshore collection accounts.
