Bir hesaba borç kaydetmek — bir tutarı, ister bir müşterinin banka hesabı ister bir maliyet defteri olsun, o hesaptan borçlu ya da düşülmüş olarak kaydetmektir. Teminatlı finansmanlarda kredi verenin, borçlunun hesaplarını doğrudan borçlandırma (debit) hakkı sessiz ama güçlü bir çaredir; hesap bankası sözleşmeleri ve nakit süpürme (cash-sweep) mekaniği, kredi verenlere ücretleri, faizi ve zorunlu erken ödemeleri yeni bir talimat beklemeden proje hesaplarından tahsil etme yetkisi verir. Proje hesaplarının konumunun ve kontrolünün — onshore mu offshore mu, kimin adına — titizlikle müzakere edilmesinin nedeni de budur.
English Definition
To debit an account — to record a sum as owed by or deducted from it, whether a customer's bank account or a cost ledger. In secured financings the lender's right to charge, or debit, the borrower's accounts directly is a quiet but powerful remedy: account bank agreements and cash-sweep mechanics let lenders debit the project accounts for fees, interest and mandatory prepayments without a fresh instruction. This is why the location and control of the project accounts — onshore versus offshore, and in whose name — is negotiated with such care.
