English Definition
The executive with top-level responsibility for running an entity's day-to-day operations — managing production, procurement, logistics, and internal processes, and carrying the operational execution that is separated from the chief executive's strategic burden. In project financing the operational maturity of an SPV is often watched as closely as its financial maturity, because after the commercial operation date the project's capacity to service debt depends on operations-and-maintenance discipline, fault management, and the actual achievement of performance guarantees. Lenders therefore assess the operating team's experience and the continuity of key personnel as a risk item, much like the sponsor's financial strength.
