Bir muhasebe döneminin sonunda bir hesabın taşıdığı, tüm dönem hareketleri işlendikten sonra kalan net tutardır ve izleyen dönemin açılış bakiyesini oluşturur. Proje finansmanında bilhassa rezerv hesaplarının (DSRA, bakım rezervi) kapanış bakiyesi kritik izlenir; zira kredi sözleşmesindeki temettü dağıtım bariyeri (distribution lock-up), çoğu kez bu bakiyenin sözleşmede tanımlı asgari eşiğin altına düşmemesine bağlanmıştır. Bakiyenin eşik altına inmesi, sponsorun nakit çekişini sessizce durdurur.
English Definition
The net amount an account carries at the end of an accounting period once all movements have been posted, and which becomes the opening balance of the following period. In project finance the closing balance of reserve accounts — the debt service reserve, the maintenance reserve — is watched closely, because the distribution lock-up in the credit agreement is typically triggered when that balance falls below a contractually defined floor. A closing balance below threshold quietly suspends the sponsor's ability to upstream cash, regardless of headline profitability.
