English Definition
In the syndication of a securities issue — a bond or an equity offering — the house ranking just beneath the lead manager or bookrunner and sharing responsibility for distribution and marketing. The order of titles appears on the cover of the offering document and determines league-table credit, which is why houses frequently negotiate for a higher title independent of their actual economic share. In project-bond issues, a co-lead manager's reach into the institutional investor book directly affects the pricing outcome, since the depth of demand sets the coupon.
