English Definition
A party holding ownership of an asset together with one or more others, whether as tenants in common or in an undivided joint holding. In project finance co-ownership is usually structured through a joint venture, and the real tension arises in the co-owners' exit rights and decision thresholds; rights of first refusal, drag-along, and tag-along provisions determine one partner's freedom to transfer its stake to a third party and the other's power either to join that transfer or to block it — provisions that draw the true distribution of control far more sharply than the headline percentages do.
