Proje finansmanı bağlamında ticari fırsatlar çoğu zaman bir projenin çekirdek geliri ötesindeki opsiyonelliği tanımlar; kullanılmayan arazinin ek kapasiteye açılması, şebeke bağlantı hakkının depolama yatırımına genişletilmesi ya da fazla ısının komşu tesise satılması gibi kalemler, baz gelir modeline girmese dahi projenin yükseliş senaryosunu (upside) besler. Deneyimli sponsor bu opsiyonelliği baştan sözleşmeye kilitler, zira sonradan pazarlığı asimetrik biçimde zayıflar.
English Definition
The potential business, market, or transaction avenues from which an enterprise may generate income. In a project-finance context, commercial opportunities often denote the optionality beyond a project's core revenue; items such as opening unused land to added capacity, extending an interconnection right to a storage investment, or selling surplus heat to an adjacent facility feed the upside case even when they sit outside the base revenue model. An experienced sponsor locks such optionality into the contract at the outset, because negotiating it afterwards leaves its bargaining position asymmetrically weakened.
