English Definition
The total financing obligation a development finance institution or lender allocates to a particular country, giving the measure of that institution's risk appetite and country-exposure limit there. In project financing this limit quietly determines how quickly an individual project is approved; when a DFI's commitment ceiling for a country is full, even a technically sound project queues until fresh allocation opens or existing exposure rolls off, so the utilisation of the country allocation is a timing risk independent of the project's own merits.
