Sorumluluk sigortası bağlamında, bir yüklenicinin işini bitirip teslim ettikten sonra, tamamlanmış o işten kaynaklanan bedeni zarar ya da maddi hasarı kapsayan teminattır; gizli kusur (latent defect) sorumluluğunun teslim sonrasına uzanan kuyruğunu karşılar. Proje devir-tesliminde bu sorumluluk, geçici kabulle (PAC) birlikte sona ermez; aksine kabul sonrası ortaya çıkan kusurlar için yıllarca sürebilen bir kuyruk oluşturur. English Definition
In liability insurance, coverage for bodily injury or property damage arising from a contractor's work after it has been finished and handed over — meeting the tail of latent-defect liability that extends beyond delivery. At project handover this liability does not end with provisional acceptance (PAC); rather, defects surfacing after acceptance create a tail that can run for years. EPC contracts therefore require tail coverage extending beyond the construction period, and lenders often make the survival of this cover through the debt tenor a direct condition; the latent defect of a delivered asset can be managed without returning to the sponsor's balance sheet only as long as this coverage persists.
