Bir değerin başlangıç ve bitiş noktaları arasındaki toplam değişimi, yıllık bileşik tek bir orana indirgeyen ölçüdür; ara yıllardaki dalgalanmayı düzlediği için pürüzsüz ama gerçekte var olmayan bir büyüme patikası varsayar. Proje finansmanında CAGR, gelir ya da EBITDA projeksiyonlarını tek rakama sıkıştırdığında yanıltıcı olabilir; inşa döneminde sıfır, işletmede yüksek bir gelirin CAGR'ı, nakit akışının fiili zamanlamasını ve dolayısıyla borç servis kapasitesini gizler. Bu nedenle kredi verenler CAGR yerine yıl-yıl ayrıştırılmış model ve DSCR profilini esas alır.
English Definition
A measure that reduces the total change in a value between a start and end point to a single annually compounded rate; by smoothing the volatility of the intervening years it assumes a clean growth path that never actually occurred. In project finance CAGR can mislead when it compresses a revenue or EBITDA projection into one figure, because the CAGR of income that is zero during construction and high in operation hides the actual timing of cash flow and therefore of debt-service capacity. Lenders accordingly work from the year-by-year model and the DSCR profile rather than the headline CAGR.
