Bir projenin mühendislik ve tasarım aşamasında, bilgisayar destekli tasarım araçlarıyla teknik çizim, model ve detay üretiminden sorumlu uzmandır; genellikle ana tasarımcı ya da EPC yüklenicisi altında, tanımlı bir teslim seti kapsamında çalışır. Proje finansmanında görünürde küçük bir rol olsa da, CAD danışmanının ürettiği tasarım dokümanları üzerindeki fikri mülkiyet ve kullanım hakkının kime ait olduğu, yüklenici değiştiğinde ya da temerrüt hâlinde projenin sürdürülebilirliğini belirler. Kredi verenler bu nedenle tasarım dokümanlarının devir (step-in) haklarını ve lisansını doğrudan sözleşme koşuluna bağlar; aksi hâlde yarım kalmış bir proje, tasarımı yeniden üretmeden ilerleyemez.
English Definition
The specialist responsible, during a project's engineering and design phase, for producing technical drawings, models, and detailing through computer-aided design tools, usually working under the lead designer or the EPC contractor within a defined deliverable set. Though it looks a minor role in project finance, who owns the intellectual property and right to use the design documents the CAD consultant produces determines the project's continuity when a contractor is replaced or defaults. Lenders accordingly tie the step-in rights and licence over the design documents directly into the contract conditions, because a half-finished project cannot advance without reproducing a design it does not own.
