English Definition
The combination of hardware and software that links telephone systems to computer networks to enable call routing, automated dialling, and matching of customer data, forming the core of call-centre and customer-service infrastructure. In a project-finance context this is an asset class usually funded through equipment finance or leasing and subject to rapid technological obsolescence; because its collateral value diverges quickly from book value, the lender's recovery depends less on the physical equipment than on the assignability of the underlying service contract. The loan-to-value on such assets is accordingly kept conservative to reflect the pace of obsolescence.
