An integrated system that gathers an entity's accounting records, budget control, payment, and reporting functions onto a single software platform, accelerating transaction traceability and period-end reporting markedly over manual processes. In project finance lenders frequently require, as a condition precedent, that the borrower can produce reliable and timely financial reporting from such a system, because drawdown requests, covenant tests, and reserve-account movements all rest on it. The system's capacity to maintain an audit trail directly governs whether expenditures can be matched to loan categories and whether any diversion of funds can be detected, which is why diligence tests the reporting output, not merely its existence.
