Bir uluslararası kuruluşun, birliğin ya da temsil grubunun üyesi olan ve o yapının oluşumuna dâhil ülkedir; kuruluşun karar organlarında oy, katkı ve temsil hakları bu üyelik statüsünden doğar. Bir ülkenin kurucu üye mi sonradan katılan üye mi olduğu, çoğu zaman sermaye payını, oy ağırlığını ve bazı yapısal ayrıcalıkları belirler. English Definition
A country that is a member of, and part of the composition of, an international organisation, union or constituency, from which membership its rights of vote, contribution and representation in the body's decision-making organs derive. Whether a country is a founding member or a later accession frequently determines its capital share, voting weight and certain structural privileges. In project finance, because a development bank may operate only in its member countries or on projects of sponsors from them, eligibility for funding is often bounded by the country's membership status, tying access to the financing source directly to membership geography.
