Bir mal, hizmet ya da finansal enstrümanı sözleşme hükümleri çerçevesinde teslim etmeyi taahhüt eden taraftır; vadeli işlemlerde ise sözleşmeyi satan, yani gelecekte teslim yükümlülüğü altına giren pozisyondur. Proje bağlamında satıcının kredi değerliliği, teminat kapasitesi ve arka plandaki tedarik zinciri, alıcı için fiyat kadar önemlidir; zira güçsüz bir satıcının teslim edememesi, ikame maliyeti ve program kaymasıyla alıcıya geri döner. Uygulamada satıcının performans teminatı ya da ana şirket garantisi, bu riskin fiyatlanma biçimidir.
English Definition
The party that undertakes to deliver goods, services, or a financial instrument under the terms of a contract; in a futures setting, the one who sells the contract and thereby assumes the forward delivery obligation. In a project context the seller's creditworthiness and underlying supply chain matter to the buyer as much as headline price, because a weak seller's failure to perform returns to the buyer as replacement cost and schedule slippage. A performance bond or parent guarantee is typically the mechanism through which this exposure is priced.
