Bir tarafın sözleşme uyarınca ifa etmekle hukuken bağlı olduğu ödeme ya da edim borcudur; sözleşme hukukunun temel birimidir. Proje finansmanında yükümlülüklerin zincirleme bağımlılığı asıl inceleme konusudur; zira bir off-taker'ın ödeme yükümlülüğü, kendi zincirindeki bir üçüncü tarafın ediminin koşuluna bağlıysa (back-to-back), gelir göründüğünden daha kırılgandır. Bu nedenle kredi verenler, gelir sözleşmesindeki ödeme yükümlülüğünün koşulsuz mu yoksa karşı edimin ifasına bağlı mı olduğunu, tanım listesinden önce okur.
English Definition
A payment or performance debt a party is legally bound to discharge under a contract; the basic unit of contract law. In project finance the chained interdependence of obligations is the real object of scrutiny, since where an offtaker's payment obligation is conditioned on a third party's performance further along its own chain, back-to-back, the revenue is more fragile than it appears. Lenders therefore read whether the payment obligation in the revenue contract is unconditional or contingent on counter-performance before they read the definitions list.
