Satıcının malı belirlenen varış limanına taşıma masrafını ve navlunu üstlendiği, ancak taşıma sırasındaki hasar ve kayıp riskinin yükleme limanında gemiye yüklemeyle birlikte alıcıya geçtiği bir Incoterm teslim şeklidir. Riskin ve masrafın farklı noktalarda el değiştirmesi, sigorta yükümlülüğünün alıcıda kaldığı anlamına gelir; proje ekipmanı CFR temelinde alınıyorsa proje şirketinin nakliye sigortasını ayrıca kurgulaması gerekir. Bu ayrımın gözden kaçması, ana ekipman kaybında sigortasız kalma riskini doğurur.
English Definition
An Incoterm under which the seller bears the cost and freight of carrying the goods to the named port of destination, but the risk of loss or damage in transit passes to the buyer once the goods are loaded on board at the port of shipment. Because risk and cost change hands at different points, the duty to insure remains with the buyer; where project equipment is bought on a CFR basis, the project company must arrange marine cargo insurance separately. Overlooking that distinction creates the risk of being uninsured on the loss of major equipment.
