Satıcının malı belirlenen varış limanına taşımak için navlunu ödediği, ancak malların gemiye yüklenmesiyle birlikte hasar riskinin alıcıya geçtiği bir Incoterm teslim şeklidir. CFR'nin can alıcı inceliği, maliyet ile riskin farklı noktalarda el değiştirmesidir; satıcı taşımayı finanse eder ama taşıma sırasındaki kayba karşı sigorta yükümlülüğü taşımaz. Proje tedarikinde ağır ekipman CFR ile alındığında, alıcının transit sigortayı kendi hesabına düzenlemesi gerekir; aksi halde kredi verenin sigorta covenant'ında bir boşluk oluşur.
English Definition
An Incoterm under which the seller pays the freight to carry the goods to the named port of destination, yet the risk of loss passes to the buyer once the goods are loaded on board the vessel. The critical subtlety of CFR is that cost and risk change hands at different points; the seller finances the carriage but bears no obligation to insure against loss in transit. When heavy equipment is procured on CFR terms in a project, the buyer must arrange transit insurance on its own account, or a gap opens in the lender's insurance covenant.
