English Definition
An account structure in which disputed funds, or funds whose rightful owner is not yet settled, are held in trust under the supervision of a court until the dispute is resolved, ensuring that no party may use the money until its division is final. In project finance a similar logic appears when contested progress payments or retained security amounts are held under an independent escrow; the difference is that a court trust carries direct judicial supervision and passes entirely outside the parties' control. The structure does not resolve the underlying question of whether payment is due, but it removes the risk of the fund being lost or unilaterally withdrawn.
