Uluslararası Ticaret Odası'nın Incoterms kurallarında yer alan ve satıcının, malı belirlenen varış yerine kadar taşıma masraflarını üstlenerek taşıyıcıya teslim ettiği teslim şeklidir; ancak malın hasar ve kayıp riski, taşıma ücreti varış noktasına kadar ödenmiş olsa dahi, mal ilk taşıyıcıya teslim edildiği anda alıcıya geçer. Bu masraf ile risk geçişinin farklı noktalarda gerçekleşmesi, uygulamada en sık yanlış anlaşılan Incoterm özelliğidir. Proje finansmanına bağlı ekipman tedarikinde, CPT altında sigortayı kimin taşıdığı belirsiz kalırsa, transit sırasındaki bir hasar sorumluluk boşluğu yaratabilir; bu nedenle deneyimli alıcılar CPT'yi ayrı bir sigorta düzenlemesiyle tamamlar.
English Definition
A delivery term in the International Chamber of Commerce's Incoterms rules under which the seller bears the carriage costs of the goods to a named destination and delivers them to the carrier; yet the risk of loss or damage passes to the buyer the moment the goods are handed to the first carrier, even though carriage is paid to the destination. This split, where cost and risk transfer at different points, is the most frequently misunderstood feature of the Incoterm. In equipment procurement tied to project finance, if it is left unclear under CPT who carries the insurance, damage in transit can create a liability gap, so experienced buyers complete CPT with a separate insurance arrangement.
