Bir kuruluşun döviz pozisyonlarını, kur riskini ve dövizli nakit akışlarını politika, hedge araçları ve limit çerçeveleriyle yönetme disiplinidir. Proje finansmanında bu, tekil bir işlem değil, gelir ile borç servisi arasındaki para uyumsuzluğunu izleyen ve hedge oranını covenant'lara bağlayan sürekli bir yönetişim fonksiyonudur. Nitekim çok varlıklı bir holdingde kur yönetimi proje düzeyinde değil portföy düzeyinde yürütüldüğünde, projeler arası doğal netleşme (natural offset) hedge maliyetini düşürür; bu merkezîleşmenin sağlanamadığı yapılarda her proje kendi riskini ayrı ve daha pahalı biçimde örtmek zorunda kalır.
English Definition
The discipline of managing an entity's foreign-exchange positions, currency risk and foreign-currency cash flows through policy, hedging instruments and limit frameworks. In project financing this is not a single transaction but a continuous governance function that monitors the mismatch between revenue and debt service and ties the hedge ratio to covenants. Indeed, in a multi-asset holding, when currency management is run at portfolio rather than project level, the natural offset across projects lowers hedging cost; where that centralisation is not achieved, each project must cover its own risk separately and more expensively.
