İki para birimi arasında resmî olarak belirlenmiş ya da referans alınan değişim oranıdır; sabit kur rejimlerinde merkezî parite, otoritenin savunmayı taahhüt ettiği çıpa değerdir. Band ya da müdahale rejimlerinde parite, piyasanın yalnızca sınırlı sapmasına izin verilen referans noktasını oluşturur. Proje finansmanında sabit pariteye dayanan uzun vadeli finansal modeller kırılgandır; zira paritenin sürdürülemez hale geldiği anda gerçekleşen devalüasyon, kademeli değil sıçramalı olur ve döviz borcu taşıyan projenin borç servis kapasitesini tek bir kararla aşındırabilir.
English Definition
The officially set or reference exchange rate between two currencies; in fixed-rate regimes the central parity is the anchor value the authority commits to defend. Under band or intervention regimes, parity forms the reference point from which the market is allowed to deviate only within limits. In project financing long-term financial models built on a fixed parity are fragile, because the devaluation that occurs the moment the parity becomes unsustainable is a jump rather than a gradual move and can erode the debt-service capacity of a project carrying foreign-currency debt in a single decision.
