Varlıkların, gelirlerin ya da iktisadi büyüklüklerin, tarihi maliyet ya da nominal geçmiş kayıt yerine, ölçüm anındaki güncel fiyat ve piyasa koşullarıyla ifade edilmiş değerlerini topluca adlandırır. Bir seriyi cari değerlerle sunmak, karşılaştırılabilirliği kolaylaştırdığı kadar, fiyat etkisi ile hacim etkisini birbirine karıştırma riski de taşır. Proje finansmanında farklı dönemlerin fizibilite varsayımlarını kıyaslarken, tüm kalemlerin aynı — cari ya da sabit — değer temeline getirilmesi zorunludur; aksi halde birbirine eklenen cari ve tarihi değerler, toplam proje maliyetini yanıltıcı biçimde gösterebilir.
English Definition
A collective term for the values of assets, income or economic aggregates expressed at the price and market conditions prevailing at the measurement moment rather than at historical cost or nominal past record. Presenting a series in current values eases comparability yet carries the risk of conflating a price effect with a volume effect. In project financing, when comparing the feasibility assumptions of different periods, all items must be brought onto the same — current or constant — value basis; otherwise current and historical values added together can misstate total project cost.
