Bir müşteriye ait menkul kıymetlerin ve finansal varlıkların, saklamacı kurum nezdinde muhafaza ve idare edilmek üzere tutulduğu hesaptır; nakit mevduat hesabından, para değil menkul kıymet bakiyesi taşımasıyla ayrılır ve varlıkların mülkiyeti hesap sahibinde kalır. Hesaptaki varlıkların saklamacının kendi varlıklarından ayrıştırılması, koruma zincirinin temelidir. English Definition
An account in which a client's securities and financial assets are held with a custodian for safekeeping and administration, distinguished from a cash deposit account by carrying a balance of securities rather than money, with ownership of the assets remaining with the account holder. Segregating the account's assets from those of the custodian is the foundation of the protective chain. In project financing, control established over the custody account holding pledged securities is the key step in perfecting the collateral; without a control agreement that passes instruction authority to the lender on default, the pledge often confers no enforceable priority.
