Bir bankanın ya da uzman saklama kuruluşunun, yatırımcı adına menkul kıymetlerin muhafazasını, takas ve mutabakatını, temettü-kupon tahsilatını ve kurumsal aksiyon yönetimini üstlendiği hizmet bütünüdür. Proje finansmanında saklama yalnızca varlık muhafazası değil, aynı zamanda kredi veren lehine tesis edilen rezerv ve escrow hesaplarının bağımsız üçüncü taraf nezdinde tutulmasını sağlayan bir kontrol katmanıdır; nitekim account bank ile custodian rollerinin ayrıştırılması, sponsorun nakde tek taraflı erişimini sınırlayan yapısal bir güvence olarak müzakere edilir.
English Definition
The bundle of functions by which a bank or specialist custodian holds securities for an investor and handles settlement, income collection and corporate actions. In project finance, custody is not merely safekeeping but a control layer: reserve and escrow accounts established for the lenders' benefit sit with an independent third party. Separating the account-bank and custodian roles is frequently negotiated as a structural safeguard that constrains a sponsor's unilateral access to trapped cash.
