English Definition
An official certificate evidencing the refund, or drawback, of customs duties previously paid on goods that are re-exported or meet defined conditions, turning the refund entitlement into a transferable claim that supports cash flow. In industrial projects that import input equipment and export finished output, duty drawback is an item that stays trapped on the balance sheet when ignored but eases working capital when actively managed; the length of the refund process varies by jurisdiction and directly affects the cash cycle.
