A schedule identifying which items within a shipment customs will physically inspect, guiding the officer on which packages to open and what to verify, shaped by risk profile and declaration discrepancies. On project-equipment shipments carrying hundreds of items per container, the scope of the examination list directly determines time spent at customs; keeping the packing list aligned with and traceable to the examination list is a practical discipline that limits the delay which would otherwise follow from unloading an entire container.
