Bir iletişim ya da veri akış zincirinde, verinin iletildiği ve tüketildiği alıcı uçtur; kaynak (data source) ile karşıt kavram olarak, üretilen verinin son durağını tanımlar. Telekomünikasyon ve sistem tasarımı kökenli bu terim, finansal bağlamda raporlama mimarisinin son katmanını — verinin karar için toplandığı noktayı — betimler. Proje finansmanında ilginç husus, kredi verenlerin izleme sisteminin nihai veri alıcı ucu olması; işletme verisi hangi ara katmandan geçerse geçsin, covenant uyumunun test edildiği bu son noktada bütünlüğünü korumadıkça raporlama disiplini yalnızca biçimsel kalır.
English Definition
The receiving endpoint in a data-flow chain at which data is delivered and consumed; the counterpart to the data source, it denotes the final destination of produced data. Telecom and systems-design in origin, the term describes in a financial context the last layer of the reporting architecture — the point where data is gathered for a decision. What is of interest in project finance is that the lenders' monitoring system is the ultimate data sink; unless operating data keeps its integrity at this final point where covenant compliance is tested, reporting discipline is merely formal.
