Bir menkul kıymetin sağladığı temettü, kupon ya da oy hakkının hangi yatırımcıya ait olacağını belirlemek üzere, ihraççının pay ya da tahvil sahipleri defterini sabitlediği tarihtir; bu tarihte kayıtlı olan hak sahibi ödemeyi alır. Kayıt tarihi ile hakkın işlemden düştüğü tarih (ex-date) arasındaki takas kuralı, ikincil piyasada fiyatın nasıl ayarlandığını belirler. English Definition
The date on which the issuer fixes its register of shareholders or bondholders to determine which investor is entitled to a given dividend, coupon, or voting right, so that the holder recorded on that date receives the payment. The settlement convention between the record date and the ex-date, on which the right detaches from the trade, governs how the secondary-market price adjusts. In project finance, tying the cash distributions passed from the payment waterfall to investors to a record date fixes entitlement at the moment of distribution and secures that payment reaches the correct party.
