Bir şirketin sermaye yapısında tahvil ihracı yoluyla sağlanan, öz kaynaktan ayrı duran borç bileşenidir; sahibine ortaklık değil, sabit getirili bir alacak hakkı verir. Öz kaynağın aksine tahvil sermayesi kâr dağıtımına değil, sözleşmesel bir faiz servisine bağlıdır ve bu servis, projenin nakit akış şelalesinde temettüden önce gelir. Proje finansmanında tahvil sermayesinin öz kaynağa oranı (gearing), kredi verenlerin covenant paketiyle sınırladığı en kritik parametredir; bu oran yükseldikçe DSCR'nin dalgalanmalara karşı tamponu daralır.
English Definition
The debt component of a company's capital structure raised through the issue of debentures, standing apart from equity and giving its holder not ownership but a fixed-income claim. Unlike equity, debenture capital is tied not to profit distribution but to contractual interest service, which ranks ahead of dividends in the project's cash-flow waterfall. In project finance the ratio of debenture capital to equity — the gearing — is the most critical parameter lenders bound through the covenant package; as it rises, the DSCR's cushion against volatility narrows.
