Vesaik mukabili tahsilatın bir türü olup, ihracatçının sevk belgelerinin ithalatçıya ancak vadeli poliçeyi (bill of exchange) kabul etmesi karşılığında teslim edildiği ödeme yöntemidir; ithalatçı malı devralır fakat bedeli vade sonunda öder. Akreditiften farklı olarak burada banka ödemeyi garanti etmez, yalnızca belge-poliçe mübadelesine aracılık eder; dolayısıyla ihracatçı, ithalatçının vade sonunda ödememe (temerrüt) riskini taşımaya devam eder. Sermaye-yoğun projelerde ekipman tedarikinin bu yöntemle yürütülmesi satıcıya fiili bir ticari kredi açtırır; bu nedenle EPC yüklenicisi çoğu zaman bu riski bir alacak sigortası ya da teyitli akreditif talebiyle dengelemeye çalışır.
English Definition
A form of documentary collection in which the exporter's shipping documents are released to the importer only against acceptance of a term bill of exchange; the importer takes the goods but pays at maturity. Unlike a letter of credit, the bank here does not guarantee payment and merely intermediates the exchange of documents for the accepted draft, so the exporter continues to bear the risk of non-payment at maturity. In capital-intensive projects, running equipment supply on these terms effectively extends trade credit to the buyer; the EPC contractor therefore often seeks to offset that risk through receivables insurance or a demand for a confirmed letter of credit.
