Bir üreticinin ürününü ihraç pazarında iç piyasadaki fiyatının ya da üretim maliyetinin altında satması; yani fiyat ayrımcılığı yoluyla yabancı piyasada rekabeti fiyatla bastırma pratiğidir. Damping kısa vadede alıcı için ucuz ürün anlamına gelse de, yerli üreticiyi piyasadan çıkardıktan sonra fiyatın yükseltilmesi riski taşıdığından, ticaret hukuku bunu haksız rekabet olarak ele alır ve telafi edici vergilerle dengeler. English Definition
The practice of a producer selling its product in an export market below its home-market price or its cost of production — suppressing competition in a foreign market by price through price discrimination. Though dumping means a cheap product for the buyer in the short run, because it carries the risk of raising prices once domestic producers are driven out, trade law treats it as unfair competition and counters it with remedial duties. In capital-intensive industrial and energy-equipment projects this bears directly on financeability, since an anti-dumping duty later imposed on input equipment can distort the project cost estimate and the price guarantees in supply contracts, so supply-chain jurisdiction risk is written separately into the financial model.
