Bir rehin hakkının kurulduğu andan, teminat altına alınan borcun ifası ya da rehnin başka bir sebeple sona ermesine kadar geçen süredir; rehin, teminat ettiği alacağa fer'i (accessory) olarak bağlı olduğundan asıl borç sona erdiğinde kural olarak kendiliğinden düşer. Proje finansmanında hisse rehni, hesap rehni ve alacak temliki gibi teminatların süresi kredi vadesiyle örtüşür; ancak rehnin fiilen paraya çevrilebilir kaldığı süre, tescil yenileme, sigorta devamlılığı ve rehin sıralamasının korunmasına bağlıdır. Nitekim bazı yargı bölgelerinde rehin tescilinin süreli olması ve zamanında yenilenmemesi, teminatın önceliğini sessizce kaybettirebilir.
English Definition
The period from the moment a pledge is created until the secured debt is discharged or the pledge otherwise terminates; because a pledge is accessory to the claim it secures, it ordinarily lapses automatically when the underlying debt is extinguished. In project financing the term of security such as share pledges, account pledges, and assignment of receivables coincides with the loan tenor; yet the period over which the pledge remains genuinely enforceable depends on registration renewal, continuity of insurance, and preservation of ranking. Indeed, in certain jurisdictions a pledge registration carries a fixed term, and failure to renew it in time can silently forfeit the security's priority.
