English Definition
The business activity of providing finance leases as an alternative to direct lending for asset acquisition. Financial leasing enables businesses to obtain use of capital equipment, vehicles, and property without the upfront capital expenditure of outright purchase. Leasing companies assess both the creditworthiness of the lessee and the residual value of the underlying asset in structuring lease terms.
