Forward-looking estimates of an entity's or project's expected financial performance, typically covering revenue, operating costs, capital expenditure, cash flows, and key financial ratios over a multi-year horizon. Projections are based on stated assumptions and are used in business planning, project appraisal, and credit analysis. They differ from forecasts in that they may incorporate hypothetical scenarios beyond management's best estimates.
