English Definition
A binding proposal to sell or purchase goods, securities, or services at a stated price and under specified conditions, which remains open for acceptance for a defined period. Unlike indicative offers, a firm offer creates a legal obligation upon acceptance by the counterparty. In commercial and trade finance transactions, firm offers provide pricing certainty and are frequently used in commodity trading, bond placements, and procurement processes.
