Aracinin piyasa tarafindan karsilanmayan menkul kiymetleri satin almayi veya herhangi bir riski ustlenmeyi garanti ettigi aracilik taahhududur. Sigortacilikta kesin aracilik, sigortacinin baglayici kosullar uzerinde bir riski kesin olarak kabul etmesini ifade eder. Sermaye piyasalarinda ise aracinin bir menkul kiymet ihracinin satilmayan kisimlarini satin alma yukumlulugunu belirtir ve boylece ihracciya gelir kesinligi saglar ve dagitim riskini araciya aktarir.
English Definition
An underwriting commitment in which the underwriter guarantees to purchase any securities or assume any risk that is not taken up by the market. In insurance, firm underwriting refers to the insurer's definitive acceptance of a risk on binding terms. In capital markets, it denotes the underwriter's obligation to purchase unsold portions of a securities offering, thereby providing the issuer with certainty of proceeds and transferring distribution risk to the underwriter.
