The traditional wireline telephone network infrastructure providing voice communication services to residential and business subscribers through physical copper or fibre connections to a public switched telephone network. This infrastructure represents a significant regulated utility asset class and has historically been subject to universal service obligations, tariff regulation, and interconnection requirements. Telecommunications infrastructure investments share many project finance characteristics with energy and transport projects, including long asset lives and regulated revenue streams.
