Hacim, risk veya diger degisken faktorlere gore farklilastirma yapilmaksizin tum birimlere, islemlere veya katilimcilara esit olarak uygulanan tek tip oran veya ucrettir. Vergilendirmede sabit oran, artan oranli vergilendirmenin aksine gelir seviyesine bakilmaksizin tum gelir duzeylerene uygulanan tek vergi oranini ifade eder. Kredilendirmede sabit faiz, azalan bakiye yerine kredi vadesi boyunca orijinal anapara uzerinden hesaplanır ve belirtilen nominal orandan daha yüksek bir efektif yillik oranla sonuclanir.

In taxation, a flat rate refers to a single tax rate applied to all income levels regardless of bracket, as opposed to progressive taxation. In lending, flat rate interest is calculated on the original principal throughout the loan term rather than on the declining balance, resulting in a higher effective annual rate than the stated nominal rate.
