English Definition
Funds that are rapidly moved out of a country in response to political instability, economic uncertainty, unfavourable regulatory changes, or fear of expropriation. Capital flight can severely deplete a nation's foreign exchange reserves and undermine domestic investment and economic growth. Governments may impose capital controls to stem the outflow, though such measures can further erode investor confidence.
