English Definition
The compulsory disposal of pledged assets by a lender or court-appointed authority following a borrower's default, to recover the outstanding loan balance. The sale proceeds are applied to the debt, with any surplus returned to the borrower and any shortfall remaining as an unsecured claim. Forced sale of collateral is governed by the terms of the security agreement and applicable enforcement legislation.
