Birleşmiş Milletler İklim Değişikliği Çerçeve Sözleşmesi (BMİDÇS), iklim değişikliğiyle mücadeleye yönelik küresel çabaların kurumsal çerçevesini oluşturan, 1992'de kabul edilen uluslararası bir çevre antlaşmasıdır. Sera gazı konsantrasyonlarının iklim sistemiyle tehlikeli insan kaynaklı etkileşimi önleyecek düzeyde dengelenmesi hedefini ortaya koyar. Sözleşme, Kyoto Protokolü ve Paris Anlaşması dahil sonraki protokol ve anlaşmaların temelini oluşturur ve yıllık Taraflar Konferansı (COP) toplantılarını düzenler.
English Definition
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international environmental treaty adopted in 1992 that establishes the institutional framework for global efforts to combat climate change. It sets out the objective of stabilising greenhouse gas concentrations at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system. The Convention provides the foundation for subsequent protocols and agreements, including the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, and convenes annual Conferences of the Parties (COP).
