A franchiser (also spelled franchisor) is a business entity that owns a brand, proprietary business model, and operational systems and grants licences to third parties to operate businesses under that system. The franchiser provides training, marketing support, and quality control standards while collecting initial fees and ongoing royalties. This model allows the franchiser to expand its brand footprint rapidly without directly investing in or managing each location.
