Proje tedarikinde FOB navlun ve yük sigortasını alıcı proje şirketine bıraktığından, riskin gemiye yükleme anında geçmesi ile akreditif ödemesinin tetiklenmesi arasındaki zamanlama uyuşmazlığı, konşimento ve sigorta poliçesi eşzamanlı düzenlenmediğinde teminatsız bir pencere yaratır.
English Definition
One of the international delivery terms under which the risk of loss and cost passes to the buyer once the seller loads the goods onto the vessel at the named port of shipment, a term specific to sea and inland-waterway carriage. All cost and customs formalities up to loading fall to the seller and everything thereafter to the buyer. In project procurement FOB leaves freight and cargo insurance to the buying project company, so the timing mismatch between risk passing on loading and the letter of credit being triggered opens an uncovered window where the bill of lading and the insurance policy are not issued in synchrony.
