UFRS 8 uyarınca coğrafi alanların gelir, varlık veya sermaye harcamasının önemli kısmını oluşturduğu durumlarda bölümsel bilgi açıklaması zorunludur. English Definition
A distinguishable component of an enterprise engaged in providing products or services within a particular economic environment that is subject to risks and returns different from those of components operating in other economic environments. Under IFRS 8 and predecessor standards, entities are required to disclose financial information by geographical segments when geographic areas represent material portions of revenue, assets, or capital expenditure. Segment reporting enables investors and analysts to assess the geographic diversification and concentration risk of a multinational enterprise.
