English Definition
The internationally prevailing market price for a commodity, financial instrument, or standardised product that is determined by the interaction of worldwide supply and demand forces and serves as a reference benchmark for transactions across all geographic markets. Global prices for major commodities such as crude oil, natural gas, metals, and agricultural products are established on recognised exchanges and reported through pricing agencies. In project finance, revenue projections are typically modelled against global price forecasts adjusted for local basis differentials and contractual price mechanisms.
